| Our service men and women are scattered around the world. They volunteered to take a job that could be the last thing they do. They are far from home. Every man and woman is someone's son or daughter, brother or sister. Many are married and have family at home that they can only visit for a few moments by long distance. Here at home we are preparing for the holidays. Thanksgiving dinner, football and family will be ours to enjoy. Christmas is coming fast and soon we will be with our loved ones around the tree sharing time with them.
Take a moment to find a way to reach out to those that chose to go, so we could stay. If you have family in the military and stationed away from home, share their contact info with those close to you. If you don't have a relative serving, then send a greeting, a package to those in service. Just tell them thanks and that you are praying for their safe return.
Remember our Veterans and contact the VA in your area and let the men and women there know that we will Never Forget. Prove it by not forgetting. It is not about policy, government or ideals. It is about honoring those that are and were willing to make the ultimate sacrifice, because they said they would.
